RAINBOW BRIDGE

Natasha Marie, aka Tasha.  She was bought by me for Steve just after we started dating.  She was a purebred but unregistered Siberian Husky spayed female.  She was very vocal and independent but knew everything you said to her.  She tended to get into trouble, she ate a whole angel food cake one time, a loaf of bread another time, a mouthful of fudge, and an ink pen!  We lived with my grandma for a while so she kept her company during the day.  She learned how to get on top of the kitchen table and would do it just for attention.  She loved car rides but hated being left alone, more then one steering wheel had teeth marks in it!  We found her in a kennel on Labor Day Weekend in '01 dead.  She was five.  We don't know what happened and probable never will.  She was on heartworm preventative and current on vaccinations.  My grandma had passed away a year and a half earlier, maybe in her own way she knew?

Nikita Ann, aka Niki.  She was bought from the same people I bought Tasha from so she was a full sister to Tasha and Smokey.  She was Smokey's littermate.  They were the last two puppies and we couldn't take one and not the other!  There was apparently a major dog fight one night between the females that had been together since day one and had no problems to this point, in the spring of '03 and she was killed.  Steve found her body in the kennel, Smokey was standing over her.  She was five.
Kara Ann, aka Baby Kara.  She was a purebred but unregistered Siberian Husky spayed female.  We got her from a friend of one of my co-workers.  She was being neglected and my co-worker told her owner that they either find a good home for her or she  was going to turn them in for neglect.  We believe that she was one of the instigators behind the dog fight that resulted in Niki's death so we had her humanely euthaniced since we didn't know if she would do it again and we weren't going to take the chance since we have Taylor.  She was approximately five, we weren't sure of her exact age.

Mattie Jane, she was a purebred Golden Retriever spayed female.  She was Steve's dog through and through.  She'd follow him all day and all night if allowed to!  We also believe that was part of the dog fight due to the condition of Niki's body so we had her humanely euthanized with Kara.  She was a very friendly and likeable dog but we weren't going to take and chances.  She was with Kara when I took them, but she still a puppy.  We thick she was around three.
