OUR RANCH

Our farm is just over 11 acres of land, 3 1/2 that's tillable that we rent out and the rest is pasture/lawn.  We have a four bedroom farm house that's almost 100 year old, it was built in the early 1900's.  It's been remodeled quite a bit on the inside but still has a long way to go.  We haven't been able to do much, most everything had been done when we bought it five and a half years ago.

Our barn isn't as old as the house, the original barn is no longer standing.  There are two lean-tos off either side of the barn, one is divided up into "garages".  One portion is Steve's shop, one is for the dogs, and the other one is for whatever we happen to need to put in there at the time.  The back lean-to is for the horses, they can come and go as they please, there's a door on each end.  --  The interior of the barn was set up with farrowing crates at one time.  There is a pen (two if we finished off the other one) that I can put a horse into if need be.  The dogs also have access to the section of the barn inside.  The barn also has a long way to go but it serves it's purpose right now and until we get some extra money it'll have to work.  We've fenced most of the grass in for the horses as our lawnmower doesn't work right now.

In addition to the acres we have, the guy that rent out tillable land lets us use the grass land that he still owns for the horses' pasture.  So with the and ours we have close to 20 acres of pasture.  Its divided into three separate sections, the front part is where I keep them in the winter and in the spring until the grass has a chance to grow a little.  It also makes feeding them easier and I don't have to worry about them snowstorm, I can see them from the house.
