The Family

Steve and I met in high school art class just before he graduated.  We became good friends and hung out with the same people.  After graduating high school he joined the National Guard and was in for 7 years.  In December of '02 he officially got out.  A month after I graduated high school in '96, I finally asked him out, he wouldn't ask me out.

We dated for two years before getting married.  We were married on the day we started going out, July 11th, only two years later!  We had a western wedding, complete with jackets with tails, cowboy boots, and black jeans for the guys and a western dress for me!  I had a garter that had horseshoes on it, our cake topper was a cowboy and cowgirl.  We even had a white and red carriage pulled by two jet black percherons!  My aunt made our bouquets of flowers and when we had real flowers for the boutonnieres and corsages.  We had wonderful weather but it was hot!

We went on our honeymoon two weeks later.  We drove me dad's new truck to St. Louis, Missouri where we went up in the arch, went to the Budweiser Brewery, and then Grant's Farm.  From there we drove to Lexington, Kentucky for Breyerfest at the Kentucky Horse Park.  We had a wonderful time while there.  Then we drove to Indianapolis, Indiana to see the racetrack.  We were there the weekend before the brickyard 400.  Then we drove to northern Wisconsin to visit some of my dad's relatives that hadn't seen since I was little.  From there we returned home.

In march of 2001 after work one night, I worked 3rd shift, I didn't feel good so I went to Urgent Care.  I found out I was Pregnant.  I called Steve at work and made it so he couldn't work straight the rest of the day since I had to try and go to bed!  His co-workers told me that he looked like he had seen a ghost after he got off the phone with me!  On December 17th, 2001 at 9:04PM.  Taylor Michael was born.  He weighed 10 pounds and was 21.5" long!  We shocked everyone, including the doctors as I refused to wear maternity clothes so the night I went into the hospital I was still wearing jeans and my belt buckle.  I just borrowed Steve's  shirts when mine got to tight!  We just couldn't figure out where Taylor had been hiding,  I looked like I had a small basketball under my shirt.  We came up with Taylor for a name because my great grandma was a Barnum, as in P.T. Barnum of Ringling Bros.  Barnum and Bailey Circus and P.T. Stood for Phinneas Taylor!
